How quizzes work

Two answering modes, free daily limits, and what changes when you upgrade to Premium.

Quiz mode vs Study mode

Quiz mode is timed-style practice — you answer first, then we tell you if you got it right and explain why. It's the closest experience to sitting an exam.

Study mode shows the correct answer and explanation up-front, so you can learn a topic from scratch. Use it for new material; switch to Quiz once you want to test yourself.

Daily free limits

If you're on the Free plan, every day you can:

  • Answer up to 10 Quiz questions
  • Answer up to 5 Study questions
  • Get up to 3 AI explanations
  • Review up to 20 flashcards
  • Submit 0 essay-feedback requests (Premium-only feature)

These reset every day — see below. If you hit a limit, the answer screen will show a friendly notice and a link to upgrade.

When do my limits reset?

Daily counters reset at 00:00 UTC (1am UK during BST, midnight UK during GMT). The dashboard shows a small “Resets in Xh Ym” hint when you're close to a limit.

What does Premium unlock?

Premium removes all daily limits — unlimited Quiz, Study, AI explanations, essay feedback, and flashcards. You also get features built specifically for exam-week prep, like AI essay grading and personalised mistake-pattern feedback.

Pricing and how to upgrade: Subscription & billing.

Why are there free limits at all?

Each AI explanation costs us money to generate. Free limits keep the service available while letting genuine learners get value before deciding whether Premium is worth it. If you're a regular user, Premium is genuinely cheaper than the time you'd spend rationing yourself.

My answer was correct but you marked it wrong (or vice versa)

Use the “Report this question” link inside any answer screen. We read every report and re-grade where needed. If you also want a refund of the question slot from your daily quota, mention it in the report — we re-credit promptly.

Can I review my past answers?

Yes — every quiz session is saved to your dashboard. Tap a past session to see the questions you answered, your answer, the correct answer, and the AI explanation. This is especially useful before an exam: revisit the questions you got wrong instead of doing new ones cold.

Where do the questions come from?

Practice questions are original AI-generated content aligned to the published AQA, OCR, and Edexcel specifications. We don't reproduce real exam papers (that would be a copyright issue and isn't useful — students already get those from their school). Every question is run through a similarity check before publishing to make sure it doesn't accidentally copy a real paper.
