Refund Policy

1. Overview
This policy explains when and how we may issue refunds for Premium subscriptions to study.smartaisolution.co.uk (the “Service”). It sits alongside, and does not override, your statutory rights as a UK consumer.
Throughout this policy:
- “we may, at our discretion, offer” means a goodwill refund — we will consider the request fairly but it is not automatic;
- “you are entitled to” means a refund required by law, which we will issue.
2. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (“CCRs 2013”), consumers buying online subscriptions normally have a 14-day cancellation right from the date of purchase. For digital content and online services, that right ends as soon as supply has started — provided the consumer has given prior express consent and has acknowledged that the right will be lost (CCRs 2013, regs 36–37).
At checkout we ask you to confirm that you want access to start immediately and that you understand this means you lose your 14-day cancellation right under CCRs 2013. Your acceptance is timestamped and stored on your Stripe subscription as evidence of informed consent. The goodwill rules in sections 3 and 4 apply on top of — not instead of — that statutory position.
3. Monthly plan — first 14 days
If you cancel a Monthly subscription within 14 days of the initial charge and email us at support@smartaisolution.co.uk from the address on your account, we may, at our discretion, offer a full goodwill refund of that month’s charge in line with this policy. After the refund, Premium access ends immediately.
4. Annual plan — first 14 days of the paid term
Annual subscribers confirm at checkout that they want immediate access and understand that this means losing the 14-day statutory cancellation right. As a goodwill measure, if you cancel within 14 days of the first charge of the paid term and email us from the address on your account, we may, at our discretion, offer a pro-rated goodwill refund in line with this policy (calculated as the annual fee minus the value of days already elapsed).
For Beta subscribers whose first charge is deferred until their Beta Premium expires, the 14-day window runs from that first charge — not from the day the subscription was booked.
5. Outside the 14-day window
Subscription fees paid outside the first 14 days are non-refundable. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time from the Customer Portal linked in your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you keep Premium access until that date.
6. Service failure refunds
Where the Service was wholly inaccessible to you for an extended period due to our fault, or where the Service did not materially conform to what was promised at purchase, you are entitled to a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Contact us with the dates and a description of the issue and we will investigate in good faith.
7. How to request a refund
- Email support@smartaisolution.co.uk from the email address registered on your account.
- State which plan (Monthly or Annual), the approximate date of purchase, and the reason for the request.
- We aim to acknowledge requests within 5 working days and respond substantively within 14 days.
8. Processing time and method
Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Stripe typically takes 5–10 working days to credit the refund back to your card or bank, depending on your issuer. We do not refund to a different card or account.
9. Discretion and limits
Goodwill refunds described in sections 3 and 4 are offered at our discretion. We may decline a goodwill request, or offer a partial refund or service credit instead, where we reasonably believe the request is being made in bad faith — for example, repeated cancel and re-subscribe cycles to extract refunds, evidence of substantial use within the refund window, or breach of our Acceptable Use rules.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a UK consumer.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Service or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Refund requests are handled under the policy in force on the date of the original purchase.
